Celebrate July 4th Safely!

The fourth of July is a special day when it comes to celebrating our freedom here in the United States and gathering with loved ones for a good time. We know that usually, you would have plans to see family and friends and enjoy events and fireworks displays. However, the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevalent and many of these events will be canceled. However, there are still ways to celebrate safely.

You can still light up the grill at home, play some games, and enjoy other’s company. With the increase in vehicles on the road and the high amount of people out having a good time, it is important to remember a couple of ways in which we can stay safe during this holiday.

Here are some of our top safety tips for July 4th this year:

If you’re planning on going out in public, don’t forget your face mask! If you are meeting up with a small group of others, do so outside if possible. Also, practice social distancing. Following CDC recommendations can prevent further spread and ensure your health. Don’t forget to wash your hands regularly!

With the increase of alcohol consumption on July 4th, be sure to have a safe ride planned to and from your destination. Don’t drink and drive, or allow an intoxicated person to drive you home. A designated driver is always a great idea, or plan to get a ride from a ride-share app or taxi. If you can’t find a way to drive without drinking, celebrate at home.

July 4th is one of the most dangerous days in the United States to drive, mainly due to alcohol consumption. While on the road, stay alert and aware of your surroundings on the road.

Ensure that your vehicle is in good condition if you’re planning on traveling far. Here at Hondura, we can provide a vehicle inspection before your trip to check that your vehicle is ready for the road. If not, we help you take care of your vehicle’s needs before you embark.

If you have legal fireworks to light, use caution when lighting them. Don’t light them around other people, other homes, or flammable items. Only light them is safe places and use caution around fireworks.

The fourth of July typically falls on a hot day, so be sure to remember summer safety. Stay hydrated at all times and bring water with you wherever you go. If you’re planning on grilling, don’t forget to grill safely. Don’t let small children around hot grills and never leave them unattended while in use.

Protect yourself from the sun! If you’ll be outside all day, be sure to use sun protection on your skin and wear appropriate clothing, hats, and sunglasses.

We hope that these safety tips will allow you to have an amazing July 4th holiday. We wish you the best, and happy Independence Day!
